When I was a teenager, 12, 13, 14 years old, I always had chores. My dad gave me a good allowance, and he was a very generous guy, but I worked hard. Every other weekend I had to wash both cars, and he told me exactly how much water and soap to put in the bucket and trained me to do it his way. One day I was washing the car and suddenly nothing was coming out of the hose, just a drip. I ran to my dad and said, “I promise I didn’t break it!” He took one look and said, “Here’s the problem. There’s a kink in the hose.” That’s sometimes what happens in our finances. There’s a kink in the hose, so the finances don’t flow.
