You Have Authority — Now Use It

You Have Authority — Now Use It

Too many believers are begging the devil to leave when they should be commanding him to go.

There is a difference between a prayer and a command. Jesus did not pray over the demoniac in the region of the Gadarenes. He did not ask the Father to kindly remove the Legion troubling that man. He commanded. He rebuked. He exercised the authority that was His. and that same authority has been delegated to you.

Luke 10:19 is not a suggestion. “Behold, I give you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy.”

All means all. That word authority in the Greek is exousia. It implies delegated power, the right to act on behalf of another. You are acting on behalf of the King of kings. Walk like it.

The enemy is counting on your silence. He is counting on you treating spiritual warfare like a polite conversation instead of the battle it actually is.

But here is what you need to understand. You do not have authority because of how loud you pray. You do not have authority because of how long you have been saved. You have authority because of whose name you carry. The name of Jesus carries weight in every realm.

So stop negotiating with the enemy. Stop tolerating what God has already given you power to dismantle. Open your mouth and exercise your delegated authority. Submit yourself to God, resist the devil (James 4:7).

Command in the name of Jesus. Stand your ground. The enemy has no legal right to what belongs to a child of God.

Walk in your authority. It was bought at too high a price to leave unused.
