Almost every time God shifts us into a new season, warfare breaks out. But here’s what many people miss. The warfare isn’t always about stopping the shift. Often, it’s meant to distract you from recognizing the shift God is already making.
God is moving some of you into a new level. That may look like increased authority, a new assignment, a promotion, or a divine relationship. And here’s the pattern you need to discern. When God advances His purposes in your life, the enemy resists. Resistance is not proof you missed God. Many times, it’s confirmation you obeyed Him.
You don’t coast into a shift. You war your way into it.
Some of you moved when God said move. You released what He told you to release. And instead of immediate breakthrough, the pressure increased. The resistance surprised you. Quietly, you wondered if you made a mistake. You didn’t. You stepped into contested territory. You didn’t miss God. You threatened the enemy.
Paul understood this. He said a wide door of opportunity opened to him and there were many adversaries. Opportunity and opposition often arrive together. Shifts are not merely personal transitions. They are spiritual advancements, and advancement always invites resistance.
When God repositions you, He disrupts existing demonic arrangements. That’s why vigilance matters. Standing your ground is warfare. After you’ve prayed, obeyed, and moved, you stand. Standing is not passive. It is active resistance.
In seasons of transition, the enemy often counterattacks through accusation, relational tension, weariness, identity attacks, or the temptation to retreat into what feels familiar. But Scripture is clear. Submit to God. Resist the devil. Keep building while you battle.
This is not the time to disengage. This is not the time to draw back. God is shifting you because He intends to entrust you with more.
Defend the shift. It’s worth the fight.
