Why You Need to Plead the Blood of Jesus

Why You Need to Plead the Blood of Jesus

There is power in the blood of Jesus. Real power. Supernatural power. Yet many believers have never learned how to actively apply that power to their lives, their families, or their circumstances.

Pleading the blood is not some outdated religious tradition. It is a strategic spiritual act rooted in the Word of God. And if you are not doing it, you are leaving yourself exposed in a war zone.

The Blood Speaks

Hebrews 12:24 tells us that Jesus is “the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.”  Did you catch that? The blood speaks. The Greek word for “speaks” here is laleō. It means to utter words. The blood of Jesus is not silent. It is actively speaking on your behalf in the courts of heaven right now.

Abel’s blood cried out for vengeance from the ground (Genesis 4:10). But the blood of Jesus speaks mercy. It speaks redemption. It speaks protection. It speaks healing. When you plead the bloodyou are agreeing with what it is already declaring.

The Blood Is Your Legal Covering

Think about the Passover in Exodus 12. The angel of death swept through Egypt. But every household that applied the blood of the lamb to the doorposts was protected. God said, “When I see the blood, I will pass over you” (Exodus 12:13).

That was not a suggestion. It was a covenant principle. The blood had to be applied. It had to be placed on the door deliberately and intentionally. The Israelites who had the blood but did not apply it would have been just as vulnerable as the Egyptians.

Do you see the parallel? The blood of Jesus has been shed once and for all. But you must apply it by faith. You must plead it over your home. Over your children. Over your mind. Over your finances. Over your health. The enemy cannot cross the bloodline.

The Blood Overcomes the Accuser

Revelation 12:11 gives us the winning strategy against the devil. “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony” (NKJV). The Greek word for “overcame” is nikaō. It means to conquer. To carry off the victory. To prevail.

Satan is the accuser of the brethren (Revelation 12:10). He stands before God pointing to your sin. Your failures. Your weaknesses. But when you plead the bloodyou silence his accusations with the finished work of Calvary. The blood is your legal defense. It is your evidence. And it is irrefutable.

You Cannot Afford to Stay Passive

Too many believers are living without the daily application of the blood of Jesus. They wonder why they feel oppressed. Why their prayers seem blocked. Why the enemy keeps gaining ground.

Pleading the blood is not optional for the believer who wants to walk in victory. It is a daily, deliberate, strategic act of faith. The blood never loses its power. But you have to open your mouth and declare it.

Start pleading the blood today. Over everything. The enemy has no answer for it.
